Summer, sun, shisha - this is the best way to relax outside

Sommer, Sonne, Shisha - So relaxt du draußen am besten

It's finally here again! Summer is just around the corner and most of our life takes place outside. Of course, it makes sense to move your shisha session outside with friends. Because what could be nicer than relaxing together by the lake or unwinding on the beach while on vacation and smoking a nice pipe at the same time? No matter whether at the lake, on the beach, in the park or at home in the garden or on the balcony - especially for shisha newbies, it can sometimes be a bit of a challenge to transport the shisha or get it to work. That's why we have a few tips for you that will make your outdoor shisha enjoyment easier.

Transport: This is how you get your shisha from A to B undamaged

A lot can go wrong when transporting a hookah and caution is particularly important when it comes to a hookah with glass elements. We have developed a great solution that allows you to take your shisha from A to B without any worries. The Dschinni backpack is designed precisely to accommodate a shisha. Thanks to the sliding inner walls and the additional fixing straps, your shisha is safe and the ergonomic padding even protects your back.

By the way, smaller shishas with a light silicone hose are particularly suitable for smoking outdoors, as they are much easier to transport and you don't need as much water to fill the bowl. But don't worry, a small shisha doesn't mean you have to compromise on your smoking experience, quite the opposite! Our Dschinni Junior, for example, is only 54cm tall including the head and still produces smoke that will amaze you.

Since caution is always required with a glass bowl , it is also advisable to use a shisha that can handle an acrylic bowl or has a cylindrical design. This means it is no problem taking the shisha with you to festivals, where glass components are often confiscated at the entrance.

Lighting shisha charcoal - the top tricks

A first small obstacle that you have to overcome to enjoy your shisha outdoors is lighting the coal . You usually won't find a connection for your charcoal lighter. But you just have to get a little creative and the coals will be glowing! A tried and tested trick is to simply heat the natural charcoal with self-igniting coal. It's very easy and you don't have to carry a lot with you. To do this, it is absolutely necessary to use a plate or something similar as a base and to protect the coal from the wind, because a fire can quickly start, especially in summer when the ground is very dry. A windbreak will also make your coal burn quicker as it ensures better heat development. But a gas-powered camping stove or a Bunsen burner with a gas cartridge can also make shisha charcoal glow easily and quickly. If you plan to grill anyway, you can heat the natural charcoal beforehand in the hot coals of the (disposable) grill. So that you always have tongs at hand, we recommend the Pocket Tweezer, a practical key ring that you can use to move the charcoal cubes without burning yourself. And you can get started! After smoking, you can simply put the coals in a container with water to cool them down and then dispose of them in the compost, as shisha charcoal is a natural product that is even classified as food in Germany.

Outdoor Shisha: This is how you can have a pleasant smoking session outside

There are still a few little things to consider so that nothing stands in the way of your outdoor shisha session. It's best to use a windbreak so that the coal doesn't burn down so quickly and ash and embers don't fly around the area. For this you can buy a practical windbreak made of aluminum or glass or, somewhat improvised, simply build one yourself out of aluminum foil. Alternatively, you can also use a smokebox like the Kaloud attachment.

Try to protect your shisha from direct sunlight! If your shisha is placed directly in the sun, the bowl and bowl will heat up and the smoke will become scratchy and uncomfortably warm. A tip for keeping the water in the bowl cool when temperatures are high so that the temperature of the smoke can be regulated: Simply throw a few ice cubes into the bowl or place them in cold water. This means your shisha smoke stays exactly as you know it. If that's still too warm for you, you can also use an ICE Bazooka . The cooling adapters ensure a pleasantly cool smoke. Small outdoor shishas usually have a diffuser, which provides slightly cooler smoke and calms the water movement in the bowl.

So that you don't have to worry about cleaning the tobacco bowl after a relaxing session of shisha, it is helpful to use a Seflex when building the bowl. You can simply remove the practical sieve insert from the bowl and easily tip out the tobacco . Bonding and blocked holes are a thing of the past.

Last but not least, you have to be a little careful with the type of tobacco. If you like it fruity and sweet, you should be careful of wasps. The animals, on the other hand, don't like minty and lemony aromas that much and they give you exactly the kick of freshness that you need on hot summer days.
