E-Shisha, vape and e-cigarette - what's the difference?

The shisha is constantly evolving. So it is not surprising that the e-shisha became marketable a few years ago as a counterpart to the e-cigarette. As a shisha lover, sooner or later you may be tempted to try out an e-shisha . The portable, electrically operated shishas are still very popular. But what exactly can you imagine by an electrically operated shisha and how does it differ from the well-known e-cigarette?

When can I smoke e-Shisha?

Since April 1, 2016, e-shishas, like other tobacco products such as cigarettes and shisha tobacco, are no longer allowed to be sold to young people under the age of 18.
Even without nicotine, these products are prohibited for sale to minors.
The Youth Protection Act also provides the same regulation for the offering and distribution of nicotine-free products such as steam stones or steam pastes. Here, too, there is no tax on minors.

The e-cigarette: The e-classic

Essentially, e-shishas and e-cigarettes only differ in their operation and appearance. The structure and evaporation process are the same. In both cases, aromatic liquid is heated using a heating coil and converted into water vapor that can be inhaled. E-cigarettes conquered the market a little earlier than the e-shisha and, in contrast to the first e-shishas, had a rechargeable battery. This meant that they were more expensive to purchase, but they also lasted longer. There are now numerous manufacturers, so they not only come in the classic cigarette format, but can also resemble pipes or cigars. The e-cigarette is activated by a so-called fire button.

The e-shisha: vape nicotine-free

The first e-shishas were large and unwieldy, but they are now also available in cig-a-like format. Unlike the e-cigarette, the portable e-Shisha did not have a rechargeable battery and had to be disposed of after around 100 puffs. The technology has now developed significantly and in addition to the disposable devices, there are also rechargeable and refillable e-shishas. In the long run, this is not only an advantage for your wallet, but also for the environment. The design of the e-shisha is usually based on the mouthpiece of a normal water pipe and the liquid is usually nicotine-free compared to that for e-cigarettes. Like e-cigarettes, it is available in many fruity flavors. In addition, the operation is a little simpler than that of the e-cigarette. The E-Shisha activates itself when you pull on it and then switches off automatically. This promises more comfort when smoking. There are also e-shishas in the form of vaporizer heads, which are attached to the shisha instead of a normal clay bowl. Instead of coal, the electric head is powered by batteries. However, this means that the mobile function of the e-Shisha is lost. Therefore, if you are looking for a shisha for on the go, it is not a good alternative.

E-Shisha or the traditional water pipe?

A clear advantage over the conventional water pipe is of course that the e-shisha does not require any coal and therefore does not produce carbon monoxide. In addition, the portable e-Shisha is not much larger than a pen and can therefore be easily taken anywhere. But of course, even though the e-shisha also produces dense vapor, it cannot hold a candle to the smoking experience with a classic shisha. Nevertheless, it may represent a practical addition or a nice change.
